Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 62-year-old male suffering from hypertension. I have had sporadic itching and swelling on my hands and occasionally on the chin and lips. These episodes last for almost four months. Since then, there have been no episodes.

I have taken a daily dose of Allegra to try to keep the swelling at bay, though it was breaking through for two months anyway. I took Quinapril for ten years, and my doctor switched me to Norvasc to see if the swelling was drug-induced. At the end of the first two months, the ANA titer was 1:80, and last week it was 1:160.

Should I be concerned about a rheumatological condition?
