Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have itchiness and flakes on my scalp. Other itchy areas include ears, back, eyes, forehead, anus, and private parts. I have been told it might be psoriasis or food allergies. I have temporary relief by showering and applying tea tree oil, but no permanent solution. How should I cure it permanently? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query. I understand your concern. You have seborrheic dermatitis, a papulosquamous disorder that mainly involves sebum-rich areas of the body like the scalp, face, eyes, eyebrows, side of the nose, chin, and trunk. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below. Use Ketoconazole (antifungal) shampoo twice a week, alternating with your regular shampoo. Use Desonide (topical steroid) lotion once daily over affected areas and I suggest you take a tablet of Levocetirizine (antihistamine) daily for one week. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent. I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
