Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 41-year-old male, married for 11 years now. For the past four years, I have had no sex life. My wife is preoccupied with social media. Besides work, I spend most of my time browsing my mobile meaninglessly. Somewhat addicted. Off late I have started visiting massage spas. All these are having a negative impact on my mental health and finances.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. Tell me more about yourself in detail like your job and wife, so I can help you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a very good job. My wife is interested in only material things, insufficiently educated. We do not share any common interests. I feel very alone. I am not depressed but it is like an onset. I am buying things that I do not require. I am afraid I will end up in adultery and my daughter's future will be ruined.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You need to concentrate on your married life. I think that you are already aware of her before getting married to your wife. You know about her educational status and thinking level. So you need to accept her and love her.

  1. Try to move to the nearest city as early as you can. If you keep yourself isolated and separate from others then you will have trouble.
  2. You try to follow the below lifestyle. It will help you to prevent your depression.
  3. You should do exercises daily for 30 to 45 minutes like at least going for a walk. It will help you to uplift your mood.
  4. You should do meditation for 20 minutes daily, just sit in one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, don't stop or force yourself to stop your thoughts, just let it be. It will help you to relax.
  5. You should eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods.
  6. You must drink enough water.
  7. You should spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls.
  8. You should spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills or language or musical instruments.
  9. You should take enough 7 to 8 hours of sleep daily.
  10. You must avoid tobacco or alcohol or any substance abuse.
  11. Live your life, do not just spend it.
  12. Be bold and confident.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I will start going to the gym and engaging myself in my studies. Also, I will start medication. Just one thing how do I curb my habit of spending excessively on gadgets and so on? Also, I forgot to mention I have this habit of temporary obsession with certain things. I want to stop it.

Hello,

Your meditation and involvement with physical activity will gradually reduce your obsession. I suggest you to follow a few instructions mentioned below.

  1. Limit the use of social media.
