Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am 26 years old and diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
I had completed a course of tablet Rifagut (Rifaximin) - 550 mg twice a day for 15 days, and I am currently having,
It has been three weeks since I am taking these medicines. Today when I went to relieve myself, my stool was brown, but there was some white color in the stool too. So the stool was a brown and white color mixed. I am really worried. I have not eaten anything differently. There is mild pain in the stomach area under the navel region. My appetite is normal and has no other symptoms.
I had an ultrasound a month ago, and the report shows stones of 2.5 mm in both kidneys.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I have reviewed your query thoroughly. You are being treated for irritable bowel syndrome, but your symptoms do not correlate with the disease.
You need a further workup to look at what is going on. Your weight is very low. The type of stool color you are having is called clay-colored stool, which happens when there is an obstruction in the bile ducts. May I know whether you feel itching and a change in the color of eyes and urine?
