Can you please suggest some medicines for loose stools?

This Premium Q&A, reviewed and published, features a real conversation between an iCliniq user and a physician.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Please suggest me medicines for loose motion. I am suffering from yesterday. I do not have any other problems now.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

Antibiotics are required for diarrhea. Diarrhea will lead to dehydration, so stay hydrated. Drink plenty of water and juices throughout the day.

I suggest you take (consult with the specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take the medication with their consent) tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once before a meal and take one pack of Oral Rehydration Salt (Sodium Chloride, Potassium Chloride, and Glucose Monohydrate) and mix it in 4.17 cups of water and drink it throughout the day.

Please let me know how many times have you passed stool? Was it watery? May I know your age?

Thank you.
