Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am a 19-year-old female. I have had several lumps in my mouth on the back of my tongue and in the roof of my mouth, and a white or yellow line going all the way through the roof of my mouth. I had a sore and dry throat for a few weeks and increased salivary secretions at times. Can I show a picture of it?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

It seems to be an infection, either herpes or other. Do you have any oral habits which might have caused this?

Use warm salt water gargle twice a day and an antibiotic gel for local application. Sometimes vitamin deficiency or allergies can cause these types of lesions. Taking a multivitamin or vitamin B complex tablet once daily can also help.

If the lesions do not go away in two weeks or so, then you may need to take a sample and get it tested for infection type and take appropriate antibiotics. For this, you may have to go to your local dentist. Use warm salt water gargle twice a day and see if there is some relief.

Thank you.
