Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have been experiencing pain on the left side of my penis (testicle area and the area near the penis) while masturbating for two days. It happens only while masturbating, and otherwise, there is no pain. Can you please tell me the reason for this pain and what medicine I should take for this?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern. The reason behind such kind of pain could be due to the following reasons:

1. Trauma.

2. Decreased blood flow to the testicles.

3. Infections in the urogenital system.

4. Varicoceles or hydroceles.

The preventive measures that you could do are :

1. Apply ice packs to that area two to three times a day for five to six days.

2. Do not use tight underwear or joggers or jeans for a while.

3. Avoid any kind of strenuous exercises and masturbation for a week.

Consult a specialist and take the medications mentioned below with their consent.

1. Tablet Ibuprofen 400 two times a day for five days.

2. Tablet Zerodol P twice a day for five days.

However, suppose the pain increases and does not settle with the advice mentioned above. In that case, you should do an ultrasound and doppler tests to see blood flow around the testis and should also consult a urologist for a local examination to rule out varicoceles, hydrocele, etc.

I hope this answers your query.

Thank you.
