Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

  1. Jaundice represents the deposition of bile pigments, more specifically, bilirubin, which can be noticed as a yellow color of the skin and sclera (white part) of the eye.
  2. The level of jaundice is usually related to the concentration of serum bilirubin. The normal reference range is around 0.18 to 1.17 mg/dL.
  3. The first clinical sign of jaundice is itching, icterus, and yellow discoloration of the sclera, which will start to become apparent when the serum bilirubin levels reach around 2.34 to 2.92 mg/dL.
  4. Note that different countries will use different units of measurement, and different units will quote slightly different reference ranges also.

I hope this helps you.

Take care.
