Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My daughter, who is 1 year 6 months old, has opened a bottle of mosquito repellent liquid. The mosquito repellant liquid was poured over her hands and legs. I washed her hands and legs with soap. She also swallowed a little bit of it. I have consulted a doctor and he said she is fine. But, she did not vomit, etc. Will it affect her health? Please explain.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern and worry.

Do not worry. Your baby is fine. Please keep mosquito repellants out of the reach of children. If a baby accidentally consumed mosquito repellant, then baby manifests with vomiting, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea or seizures. As you mentioned it has poured on baby's hands and legs only and baby does not have any of these symptoms, it seems very unlikely that baby has ingested it.

Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
