Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a period-related issue, and I do not know whether I have had my period. When I went to the bathroom, I saw a small spot of blood, a very slight discharge. As it has been two days now, I have no flow. Please give me some guidance about it. I have been agitated for a few days.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

As per your description, these symptoms could be due to hormonal imbalance, but they could be due to pregnancy also. However, the chances are low. But as you missed your period, it could be an ovulatory cycle due to hormonal changes or due to pregnancy. It would help if you went for a home urine pregnancy test after seven days of your missed period date or blood beta hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) testing to rule out pregnancy. If pregnancy is not there, it could be due to hormonal imbalance, and you can wait and watch for your menses or take Progesterone for withdrawal bleeding. Get your thyroid profile and hemoglobin test also for any hormonal changes.

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
