Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had terrible periods since I was 14, and I am now 19 years old. I received two contraceptive injections, and after the first one, I began to experience a period that continued continuously for 11 months. After that, I went six months without a period, and my cycles were erratic for the next two years, occurring every six to eight weeks and lasting between seven and twelve days at a time. They considerably interrupt my life and make me feel very uncomfortable. I frequently pass out from the pain and lightheadedness I experience during my cramps, which prevents me from doing simple tasks like standing up. As a result, I cannot leave the house, go to work, or attend college while on my period. Is there anything I can do to resolve this on my own? Furthermore, what may be the root of it? Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Pain is normal. Moreover, every woman has pain during her periods. They feel less or more pain according to their structure, body hormones, capacity to withstand pain, and many more. Severe pain at an early age, primarily spasmodic, is due to a tight cervix. It will mostly be relieved after your first pregnancy. Until then, you must take medicines or sometimes injections for pain during menstruation. Keep some antispasmodic tablets with you, and you can take them during your periods. If irregular menses are not much trouble, then there is no need to do it now. Alternatively, have to investigate to find the reason. Do consult a nearby Gynecologist to get some more ideas

I hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards.
