Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have not felt right for the last couple months. I first noticed that I was feeling unusually tired at midnight like my body felt weak. Then I started to notice that my arms felt weird. It is hard to explain but it felt like I could not have them resting, like I had to cross them or tuck under something. Then it progressed to my joints around my elbow felt stiff and achy. Then I started to develop mild aches that would come and go all over my body. My symptoms are mild but annoying and it worries me that something is not right. I went to my GP and they took blood and everything was normal except my iron was a bit low. That was a month ago and I still have these symptoms. What should I do? I am taking Citalopram 40 mg, fish oil, vitamin D, cranberry, calcium, magnesium, zinc, and vitamin C. Kindly suggest.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have read your health concerns in detail and checked your reports. I would like to share with you some of my observations that can help us understand what are the possibilities of diagnosis, sudden weakness, or any change in the sensation in any part of the body limb, that occurs when there could be a low supply of blood to the brain, that's one possibility, the other possibility could be cervical spondylitis, and the next can be, I had a look at your weight and it says 198 pounds for the height of 5.4 feet, that also is one major contributing factor to your symptoms. Now coming to the investigation, will it be possible for you to get an MRI (?magnetic resonance imaging) done? This is important imaging to understand any circulation in the brain leading to such symptoms. Secondly, try to reduce weight, this can also help release the pressure as you lose weight on bones, and can improve your health. I suggest you continue with the medications that you are taking. I hope this will help you.

Thank you.
