Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son is 3.8 months old. He has cold for the past one month. Doctor prescribed syrup Allegra and syrup Mulberry. Though cold is not severe, he has blocked nose. So he breathes through his mouth during night. So I used Flomist nasal spray. Last time doctor prescribed Metaspray. Which is better?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Avoid keeping the air conditioner at less than 26 degrees as it is the common cause for blocked nose in children. Flomist as well as metaspray gives similar results.

1. I suggest (consult with a specialist doctor, talk with him or her and take medicines with their consent) syrup Cetzine (Cetirizine) 3.5 ml twice daily for three days.

2. If the symptoms did not improve, I suggest syrup Montair LC (Levocetirizine and Montelukast) kid 3.5 ml twice daily for ten days.

3. Avoid home remedies.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
