Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been having pain in my lower neck and arm for the past year and have been on conservative treatment since then. But it is not fully cured. My MRI scan immersion is as follows - posterior disc bulge at C4-C5 level with mild immersion on the thecal sac, posterior disc bulge at C5-C6 level with mild immersion on the thecal sac. What should I do?

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for your query.

I understand your concern. I suggest you to follow a few instructions such as, avoid lifting heavy weights, avoid arching your back. Instead, bend your knees to pick up things from the floor, avoid sitting for long hours, avoid two-wheeler rides, improve your posture while sitting, try to sit up with your back straight, try to get up from your chair every 20 minutes, take a quick walk around, and then continue working, always sit on a chair with back support, do not get up suddenly from a sleeping position, instead turn to the side and then get up, take bed rest in case of severe pain, do warm compressions on the affected area twice daily, apply Oxalgin (Diclofenac) gel twice daily, take tablet Pregabalin (anticonvulsant, analgesic, and anxiolytic) 75 mg daily for 15 days before food, take tablet Etoricoxib (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) 60 mg twice daily after food, take tablet Rabeprazole (antacid) 20 mg twice daily for ten days before food, take a tablet of Vitamin D once daily for ten days, then once a month for 11 months, do core strengthening exercises, do neck rotations, shoulder shrugs, and shoulder rotations, and avoid jogging, running, and weight-lifting as it aggravates back problems. Take these tablets only if you are not allergic to them. Also, do not take these tablets if you are a known case of bronchial asthma. Kindly consult a specialist, talk to them and take medications with their consent.

I hope this has helped you. Thank you.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
