Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
For 12 months, I have been having numbness in my hands during the night. I wake up with either of my hand numb. Despite thinking it was alcohol-related, the neurologist I consulted said it is not neuropathy or neuro-related. He did a scan of the brain and neck and had no MS or compression. I present completely normal and have no issues during the day. I have not had alcohol for one year. I take multivitamins, exercise five days a week, and stay well hydrated. Recently I have had some bladder issues, but no infection was present. Otherwise, I have a clear medical history. I thought perhaps I had thoracic outlet syndrome, but I have had a cold foot (right) when sitting in the evenings and when driving for the last three weeks. Last night when I woke up my right leg was numb. Any idea, please?
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com. Do not worry. It seems to be due to some nerve root compression at the cervical spine due to sleeping in the wrong posture and using the wrong pillow. Do neck, back, and shoulder exercises daily. Do deep breathing exercises daily. Do eye exercises regularly. I suggest you regularly take dates, beetroot, jaggery, and green leafy vegetables. Also, take Neurobion forte (Methylcobalamin 1000 mcg, Nicotinamide 100 mg, and Pyridoxine 100 mg) injection once a week for six weeks, and tablet Ostocalcium plus (Elemental calcium 250 mg and Vitamin D3 400 IU) twice a day for six weeks. Regards.
