Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 30 year old female. Over the past six months, I have experienced a gradual and significant increase in my body weight, which now falls into the obese category based on my BMI (body mass index). While I am aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a balanced diet, I struggle to make sustainable changes that lead to weight loss. I have noticed that my obesity is affecting my overall health and well-being. Can you provide me with more information about obesity, including its causes, health risks, and potential impact on my overall health? What are the available treatment options for managing obesity?

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern.

Causes of your problem can be due to hormonal disorders 10 % of the time and increased calorie intake, or less calorie burning 90 % of the time. Your problem can precipitate risks like cardiovascular diseases, musculoskeletal and joint disorders, diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertriglyceridemia, and liver disorders. Suggested treatments include low caloric intake and high caloric burning. If not successful, then some oral and IV (intravenous) medicines are given. If that does not help achieve weight loss, then bariatric surgery can be helpful.

Hope this helps.

Kind regards.
