Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Which oil is best for oily hair with dandruff: Argan or Macadamia oil? If I can use both, then which oil should be used for shampoo and which one for conditioning? I even have hair fall.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

With passion, commitment, and experience, I hope I will be able to provide you with a top-class medical opinion.

If you have dry, brittle hair, then do an overnight deep conditioning treatment with Argan oil once a month. Take four to ten drops of oil in your hands before massaging into your scalp. Continue applying all the way to the ends and roots. Macadamia rejuvenating shampoo is designed to add moisture and protection to all hair types and is excellent for dry, and damaged hair. Apply it on the wet hair, massage and rinse thoroughly and use lukewarm or cool water as hot water damages the root's ends and it causes hair fall. I will explain everything about hair loss in points:

1. 100 to 150 hair fall every day is very normal. So hair fall should be considered if the number of hair is more than this.

2. Generalized hair falls in females are mostly due to stress, poor sleep, poor nutrition, and excessive blood loss due to menstruation.

3. Stress alopecia is also common in which females keep their hair very tight in a certain manner which creates tension in the root and causes hair fall.

4. Straightening and other procedures also cause weakness of the root.

5. Other conditions like fever, typhoid, malaria, thyroid, etc. also cause hair fall (less common).

Treatment:

  1. Have a good sleep.
  2. Take good food, green vegetables, and fruits.
  3. Take iron and multivitamins like Follihair (amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and botanical extracts) for at least three months, after consulting your doctor.
  4. Check your blood hemoglobin level, if it is less, then iron and folic acid supplements should start.
  5. Check thyroid and diabetes to rule out other causes.

It was a pleasure to help you and I am looking forward to helping you further with your medical needs.

Thank you.
