Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a problem with my tongue.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thanks for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have been suffering from a tongue problem.

According to the picture (attachment removed to protect patient identity) provided here, you may suffer from red- whitish patches on the tongue due to oral candidiasis caused by a yeast-like fungus known as Candida Albicans.

For oral candidiasis, you should brush your teeth twice and maintain oral hygiene strictly.

You can apply the medication as follows-

Daktarin (Miconazole) gel 2% apply locally on your affected area two to three times daily. Using the medication mentioned above and taking Vitamin B complex supplements will heal within 14 days. In case of any other query, ask me.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor, for your reply.

I think this is not the right medicine.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Thanks for joining us again. I have already mentioned the medication known as Daktarin gel 2% containing Miconazole, which is antifungal and effective against oral candidiasis. Another antifungal Nystatin is also used to treat oral candidiasis. You can use this preparation too if you do not want to use the previous one or doubt that preparation. You can use Nystatin as follows-

Mycostatin or Nilstat (Nsytatin) oral suspension applies locally to your affected area four times daily.

The medications mentioned above contain Nystatin preparation, which are effective against oral candidiasis, so you can use it along taking vitamin B complex.

If any other query, knock me, and I will try to reply to you further.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
