Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 30 years old and had oral sex six days ago. Today morning I was having trouble as there was an erection, and I was sleeping on my stomach, and there was mild pain. I have also been applying a lot of soap there. And today, when I was urinating, there was a weird sensation and pain. The tip has stretched a bit. What is the treatment for it?

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your query and understood your concern. However, I need a few details. So, Kindly answer few questions; Are you diabetic? Do you have any trouble retracing your penile skin? Do you have any discharge from your penis? Was this oral sex with your regular partner or someone new? Where exactly is the pain? Is it on the skin or the meatus, or the tip? Have any small ulcers appeared on your penile head after the oral sex? It is hard for me to see the photos as they are zoomed in too much (attachment removed to protect the patient's identity). Do you have any trouble passing urine? Like straining to pee, urgency, or increased frequency?

I hope this has helped you.

Kindly follow up with the answers.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

Here are the answers to your questions, no, I am not diabetic. There is no discharge that I have noticed. It was a new partner. There is pain at the meatus tip. Yes, small boils have appeared. Yes, there is difficulty and pain during peeing. There is a lot of strain, so I have to do it slowly, and the pain is at the meatus tip when there is a release of urine. As you see in the attached pictures, the meatus tip is swollen at one edge.

Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From the images and history, it seems that you have contracted genital herpes, which is a viral infection.

I hope this has helped you.

Take care.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have a few questions. Is this non-curable? Am I at risk of developing any other diseases? Can I not be sexually active anymore? Is there any medicine that I can start to ease the pain? What should I do now? I am really scared.

Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is no cure for genital herpes. However, in most cases, it does not cause any serious issues. And yes, it may come back later, but that is not a sure-shot thing. So I suggest you do the laboratory tests like an STI (sexually transmitted infection) panel, including IgG (immunoglobulin G) and IgA (immunoglobulin A) for herpes. I also suggest you get your partner checked as well. And for the time being, I suggest you take a tablet of Chymoral forte (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug) three times a day for seven days, use the ointment Surfaz-SN (Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone Diproprionate, and Neomycin Sulphate) twice daily for seven days around the penile head, take the tablet Acton-OR (Paracetamol) twice daily for three days, take the tablet Cranpac-D (dietary supplement) twice daily for fifteen days, and take the tablet Econorm (probiotic) 250 mg twice daily for fifteen days. Kindly consult a specialist, talk with them and take the medications with their consent.

As far as sexual intercourse or oral sex is concerned, please avoid it for 1.5 months. When you do restart, please always use a condom. You really should not be worried too much. 95 percent of people with herpes do not have much to bother with. Just remember always to use protection.

I hope this has helped you. Kindly follow up with the laboratory results.
