Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 28-year-old male. I have two tender spots on opposite sides of the abdomen, in line slightly below the belly button near the pelvic bone. I feel a sharp pain if light pressure is applied. Everywhere else feels normal. Currently, I am taking the tablet Venlafaxine. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Such pain can be due to various reasons. Usually, an infection of the urinary tract can cause such pain, or there can be urinary tract stones. So I would suggest you do an ultrasound examination of the whole abdomen once and send me the report. I will check and let you know.

I suggest taking the following medications.

1. Tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once before a meal.

2. Tablet Ibuprofen 400 mg once after a meal when pain is severe.

Take these for three days. However, please consult a physician, discuss with them and start taking the medications with their consent.

Also, please answer the following questions.

1. Since when do you have this pain?

2. Do you have frequent urges to pass urine?

3. Is there any burning sensation or pain while passing urine?

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

I have had this problem for about five days. Urination frequency is roughly every two or three hours. Four days ago, I did a self-test on my urine, showing high leukocyte levels. However, when the nurse performed the test the day after, the results came back as normal. Occasional burning sensation by usually urinating feels normal.

Hello.

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I read your query and can understand your concern.

Yes, then the pain is due to infection only. I suggest you do a definitive test, including a urine routine or microscope and CBC (complete blood test). It will help us to diagnose. Please drink water in large amounts. It will help in clearing the infection. Drink cranberry juice as well.

Hope this helps.

Thank you and take care.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
