Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 16 years old, and I suffer from PPP. I want to get rid of them, please suggest medicine. Can I use candid B cream on them? Did it happen because of any side effects? It is growing day-by-day and sometimes it also irritates.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com

Pearly penile papules are benign harmless lesions. Do not use self-medication. It will worsen the lesions. Attach the picture of lesion for a better clinical view.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

Sorry, I could not zoom much but I am sure the second kind has also started.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have seen the pictures (attachment removed to protect patient identity). These are pearly penile papules, which are pearly white dome shaped papules present circumferentially on the coronal margins of glans penis. They are more seen in uncircumcised males. Its differential diagnosis is hypertrophic sebaceous gland. On histopathology, dermal proliferation of fibroblast in collagenous stroma, decreased elastic fibers, and dilated blood vessels are seen (in PPP). PPP are angiofibroma and occurs in 50 percent of males (skin-colored, smooth, rounded, 1 to 3 cm papules around coronal sulcus of glans). No treatment is necessary. If the patient wants treatment, laser ablation or shave excision under medical supervision is done. Cryotherapy or electrofulguration may be done. Other differential is condyloma acuminata or papilloma.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
