Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I am 25 years old. I am having weak erections for two months. I think it is because of more masturbation so I stopped doing it since 35 days, but still, I am not having erections. I am also having a prominent vein on the top and either side of the penis even when flaccid. I do not smoke or drink. I exercise regularly. I am worried now please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

According to your history, it looks like you have psychogenic erectile dysfunction. Stopping masturbation would not help. The best would be to start a short course of medicines and take cognitive behavioral therapy to reduce the anxiety which has caused this problem. The vein in the picture looks absolutely normal (attachment removed to protect patient identity) and it is in fact a sign of a healthy penis. Remember it is temporary and most men face this issue sometimes. Maintain a healthy lifestyle and sleep for seven to eight hours at a stretch. Use Lavender aroma in your house which helps reduce your anxiety.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

I will follow your advice. How many days can it take to recover? Will the medication cause any dependence?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It usually takes about two months to recover completely on an average. There is no dependence to the medication. But try to maintain a healthy lifestyle by doing exercises for minimum of 30 minutes, eat healthy food, sleep at least for six to seven hours, reduce the usage of social media also and cognitive behavioral therapy is helpful.

Patient's Query

Thank you sir,

I will follow your advice. Thank you. I just want to show you another image in which I found a vein bulging in middle. Is it normal?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I have seen the images. It looks absolutely normal. There is nothing to worry. Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
