Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have got my periods today. Can you suggest a medicine to stop the bleeding for two days since I have to attend a holy ceremony tomorrow?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your history and understand your concerns.

Once the period starts, there is no way to stop it. But, if progesterone is taken in high doses, the bleeding may be stopped. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take the medicines with their consent.

Hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Thank you doctor,

What is the probability that the progesterone would stop the bleeding? Will it have any side effects later?

Answered by Dr. Richa Agarwal

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

There is very less chance to stop the bleeding. There are almost no side effects except for some menstrual irregularities.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
