Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had unprotected sex last month-end. My period was due to this month beginning, but it was delayed for five days now, and I am having a lot of abdominal pain and cramps. Also, two days before morning, I got a slight thick brown discharge and heavy pain in the lower abdomen. I took tablet Regestrone during my last cycle. What does that mean? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

The i-Pill is a very good emergency contraception with a nearly 98 percent success rate. As we have already taken hormones in the previous cycle, and even i-Pill is a hormonal preparation, the date of the next cycle has changed, and the chances of pregnancy seem significantly less. You should get your next periods within seven to ten days. The cause of the delayed period may be due to stress, anemia, or thyroid dysfunction. I suggest you get a complete blood count and a thyroid profile done and revert with the reports.

I hope this helps.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply. To be sure I will get a pregnancy test done, I had sex two days before my date and did not get my periods, and it has been a week, so when should I get a test done? Please help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

I suggest you to do a urine pregnancy test if your periods are missed by two to three days. I suggest you do it right now and be tension-free.

I hope this helps.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
