Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend, and two days later, I got my periods on my regular period cycle. Usually, I have five days of blood flow, but the flow is stopped or has occurred once on the third day. What should I do? Am I pregnant?

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I fully understand your concern and will surely help you.

For getting pregnant; the sperms have to be ejaculated inside the vagina of the female; these sperms have to fertilize the egg, which then gets implanted in the uterus for a women to conceive. In your case, since it was so close to your period, there is very less possibility that the eggs were there from the ovaries for fertilization. Then you had periods, which reflects that your uterus has not supported the pregnancy even if it was there. So I firmly believe that you are not pregnant. Do not worry; I am always there for you. Feel free to ask any questions or to share any additional information.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

The answer you gave has relaxed me. Usually, I have a period cycle of five days. But this time, it lasted only two days. On the third day, there were just a few drops, and it stopped. Is this normal, or you think this is something profound that I should be worried about. Please elaborate.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

How was the flow in the first two days? Is it like your regular periods or again less flow on these two days as well? See again, according to the female ovulation pattern; the eggs are not there two days before periods. Also, implantation bleeding i.e., bleeding after conception, is generally after ten days and not on the second and third-day post intercourse. So I am sure that you need not worry. Still, to put your concern to rest, take a urine pregnancy test after a week, with the first urine of the day for an accurate result. Do not drink too much fluid before your test. Adhere to all guidelines written on the package of the pregnancy test kit. Based upon that, we can decide upon further management of your menstrual health. Otherwise, it is fine. Do not get stressed out.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you so much for your reply.

The flow on the first two days was like routine periods. Since I get a heavy flow on the second day, it was the same. On the third day, it was just a few drops, and then the flow stopped. It is happening with me for the first time (which is my primary concern). Otherwise, I get a routine period of up to five days.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Sorry for the delay. Do not worry since you have had experienced the heavy flow on day two, so that is fine. Stress, including the COVID-19 stress, leads to irregularities or delay in periods for almost 25 percent of the ladies worldwide. So do not worry, and you are fine. Feel free to ask any questions or to share any additional information.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

It is been two weeks since we talked, and I just wanted to inquire about one thing. I have this white, solid mucus-like substance coming out of my vagina, and it is itching inside. What could be the cause?

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

How are you doing? For how many days have you been experiencing this problem? Based on the information you provided, it appears to be a vaginal infection. Please apply Surfaz SN (a combination of Beclomethasone, Clotrimazole and Neomycin) cream locally, use gentle vaginal cleansers for cleaning, keep the area dry, avoid intense exercise, wear loose cotton underwear, and use barrier contraception like a condom for intercourse if sexually active. Let us review your condition after three days.

I hope this has helped you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you again for your time; I greatly appreciate it.

It is been happening since yesterday, and last night, it was quite itchy down there. A solid, sperm-like substance comes out.

Answered by Dr. Reetika

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry; it is fine. You will get better. Start applying the cream as directed. After three days, please let me know how much you have improved. Do not worry; it is not serious. Avoid intercourse for the next three days; otherwise, use barrier contraception.

I hope this information will help you. Please revert in case of further queries.

Thank you.
