Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My fiance and I had sex six days back, and I had used contraceptives like condoms. My fiance's last period date was on the second week of last month. Till now, she has not had her periods. But today, she felt a slight cramp or pain below her stomach for a short time. Is she pregnant? I had used contraceptives last time, and I always use them at all times.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

Thank you for writing in, and I understand your concern. Yes, there can be chances of pregnancy. It would depend on when the ejaculation happened. So after your fiance's last period, did she get her period last month? Would you mind elaborating about the act so that I could tell you if she could be pregnant or not? Also, is she using any contraceptive pills? Would you please follow up with the details so that I can help you further?

Regards.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

I ejaculated outside and not inside her body. She had her period in the second week of last month, and it was seven days late. At the moment, she is not using any contraceptive pills. She began using them in the beginning months of this year. And later, her periods occurred as per her monthly routine. Additionally, I want to inform you that I use condoms every time and do not ejaculate inside her.

Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

After the second week of last month, did your fiance not get her period? Are her periods regular? After what interval does she get her periods and, how long do they usually last? Did she take the Morning-After pill? Are you sure that the condom was on during the entire penetrative act? Did you ejaculate in the condom? The precum too contains some sperms, which can get out of the condom if not used properly. Also, how long was the episode?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

She got her periods but was seven days late; and also, she has changed her city, food, and lifestyle the last month. Her period usually lasts for a week, and she does not take the Morning-After pills. I am sure that the condom was there during the entire act, and I did not even ejaculate in the condom. I ejaculated in the washroom but not near her vagina. The episode was for ten to twenty minutes. I doubt that there is no chance of pregnancy because I was wearing a condom all the time. I would also like to mention that earlier she was having mild cramps or pain in the lower side in the morning hours.

Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Since you are confident that you were wearing the condom and ejaculated in the bathroom, the chances of pregnancy are rare. I think your partner might be excessively worried and stressed, which might be delaying her periods. Ask her to relax and wait for a few days; she would definitely get her periods by then. When did she have the abdominal pain? Is it today morning? Or earlier?

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for your response.

Today in the morning, she had abdominal pain for three to four seconds. I do not think there would be a chance for pregnancy because I was concerned and changed condoms with every penetration. Also, she used to get her periods late, as previously mentioned.

Regards.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You do not need to worry about the pain. Sometimes changing the condom can cause a bit of the precum to spill out while changing the condoms, which may cause the sperm to go in.

Thank you.
