Patient's Query
Hi doctor,
I experienced ringing in my right ear three days ago, and it has not stopped since then. It is not very loud, and I do not hear it when the environment is noisy.
It is really bothering and stressing me out, and I do not know what to do. I wanted to have this checked, but it is so hard to get an appointment and go out right now, given the COVID situation.
Please help me understand this.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your concern.
Taking your age into account, I would recommend that you avoid using earphones or listening to very loud music. Also, avoid caffeinated drinks like tea, coffee, and alcohol, if possible.
Ensure you get adequate sleep and try not to take on too much stress. Please specify whether the sound you are perceiving is a tone or noise type.
Use the online tinnitus relief application on speakers with moderate sound during quiet periods, as the internal sound may be bothering you during silence and sleep.
This condition is called tinnitus. With these practices, it will most likely improve. Once the situation normalizes, please get a pure tone audiometry test, an immittance audiometry test, and an otoscopy.
I hope you are satisfied with my answer. For further queries, you can consult me at any time.
Thank you.
