Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have a picture of my scalp. What is this? It does not seem to heal and is itchy sometimes.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Please answer a few questions below. How long has it been there? What are the symptoms? Is any other area affected? Are any other family members affected? Do you have a history of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, or thyroid disorder? Are you allergic to any drug? Please send a few more photographs taken from different angles. Looking forward to your response to help you.

Patient's Query

Thank you, doctor,

Here are the answers to the questions. This has been there for a week, and it is just itchy. No other area of my body is affected and none of my family members have the same symptoms. I am not diabetic or hypertensive and do not have anyother medical problems. I am not allergic to any drugs, and I have attached a few more photographs for your reference. Thank you.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. It is going in favor of Tinea capitis. It is a fungal infection of the scalp. Physical examination is required to confirm the diagnosis. I would suggest Sebifin (Terbinafine) cream twice daily for three weeks. Along with capsule Sporanox (Itraconazole) 100 mg twice daily for seven days. Hope it is helpful. If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
