What causes yellow semen and difficulty in urination?
Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I faced difficulty in urination ten days ago and consulted a urologist. As my urine flow was reduced, I was advised to have a penis X-ray, which revealed that everything was normal. I have been on Oflin 200 mg two per day and Urimax one per day for the last eight days. However, I still have pain when I begin to urinate, as well as pain and itching in the lower abdomen, penis, rectum, and anus, and the semen is yellow. I am concerned about the color of the sperm. Please provide help.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I understand your query.
You appear to have a prostate gland infection, possibly after a UTI (urinary tract infection). The treatment for this is as prescribed by your doctor, which includes antibiotics and Urimax (Tamsulosin hydrochloride), which relaxes the prostate gland. Because prostate infections take longer to clear than bladder infections, you must take antibiotics for at least three weeks. Because you mentioned that you were evaluated to rule out any urethral obstruction, you can continue on the same medication for the time being. If not previously prescribed, you can take syrup Citralka (disodium hydrogen citrate ), 0.16 fluid ounces with a glass of water twice daily after food to helps with the burning sensation.
I hope this help you.
Please let me know if you have further questions.
Thank you.
