Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 6-year-old child is having itchy skin rashes. How to know if it is chickenpox?

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is one of the common viral infections. There is nothing to worry about. Chickenpox usually starts on the chest, back, trunk, face, mouth and then spreads to the legs, including the groin, private areas, and arm. It starts from the center and radiates to the periphery. It might last for a week. These can be accompanied by fever, vomiting, loose stools like other viral illnesses. I suggest you take tablet Paracetamol for fever and Calamine lotion for itching.

Take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply.

The rashes are present all over the body.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Yes, it can be all over the body, as flat rashes, blisters, or scabs. It is advisable to consult a pediatrician in person.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
