Q. Please suggest a remedy for a threadlike growth in my anus. It is paining.

I have a small threadlike protrusion near the opening of the anus. It is paining the whole day. There is no blood during defecation. Please give a remedy.

The threadlike growth in the anus seems like a small anal tag, that is, just a skin tag. Usually, it will have an underlying anal fissure, that is, crack in the skin near the anal opening, that causes pain.
I suggest you take the following medicines:
- Lactulose syrup 20 ml at night. It helps in making the stool soft and will reduce further injury to the fissure.
- Lignocaine anal cream (Smuth cream), twice daily application. It reduces the pain. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and take medicines with their consent.
- Avoid constipation. Drink two to three liters of water daily.
Please review with me after three days or earlier if the symptoms worsen. You can take a picture of the area if possible, for better understanding. Good luck.
