Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have had a sore throat for the last two days. It hurts when I swallow, and I cannot even swallow my saliva. I also have a fever. Could you please help me?

Answered by Dr. Sugreev Singh

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern and I will help you with that. Sore throat and fever can be associated with a bacterial throat infection, and I guess the symptoms can be because of that only. So, antibiotics are required. To suggest an antibiotic, I need to know your age.

And can you please send a picture of your throat? Is there any redness?

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for answering.

I am 26 years old. I have redness in my throat. So, could you please help me with the treatment?

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is most probably pharyngitis, along with some involvement of tonsillitis. Do not worry. You will be fine. I would suggest the following treatment for five days:

1) Tablet Augmentin (Amoxicillin and Clavulanic acid) 625 mg three times a day after meal.

2) Tablet Paracetamol 500 mg after a meal (whenever there is a fever).

3) Tablet Pantoprazole 40 mg once a day before meal.

And please drink lukewarm water only. Let me know after five days.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
