Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have a sore tongue of unknown cause, which is not painful. I never had this issue before. I do not take any medications for this.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I hope I can lessen your discomfort. The soreness you have seems to be a traumatic ulcer due to either hot food intake or injury caused by a sharp tooth.

Do not worry. I suggest you take tablet Zincostar or Zincovit (Vitamin A, B complex, C, D, E and minerals magnesium, manganese, copper, chromium, iodine and zinc) once a day for ten days. Apply Dologel (Choline salicylate and Lidocaine) or Oraheal (Benzocaine) on the sore spot thrice daily for five days and Kenacort gel (Triamcinolone) twice daily for three days. Kindly avoid hot and spicy food.

Follow them and revert.

Thanks.

The Probable causes

Teeth injury.

Investigations to be done

May be later.

Differential diagnosis

Traumatic ulcer (chief complaint).

Probable diagnosis

Multivitamin therapy once a day for 10 days (Zincostar or Zincovit). Dologel or Oraheal or Orasore thrice a day for five days. Kenacort gel twice a day for three days.

Regarding follow up

I suggest you to go by instructions and do not worry it will heal easily. Regards.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thanks for your reply.

Will it be a cold sore? I never had this before. I am worried and want to make sure what it is.

Thanks.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Please be calm.

The history you gave is not associated with any fever, malaise or blisters, so clinically, it seems to be a traumatic ulcer only. However, if you have any other symptoms, please update me; in that case, medications need to be changed.

Regards.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
