Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am a 33-year-old male with general good health and not taking any medication. I suffered from unilateral orchiepididymitis five years ago and fully recovered. I recently did a semen analysis where all the values were fine except progressive motility, which was 26 % (82% below the WHO guideline). Should I be worried about my fertility?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

There is nothing to worry about. The condition is termed asthenozoospermia (reduced sperm motility). The reference values for sperm analysis were changed multiple times. It is important to see the whole picture, and that looks fine. So, there is no reason for anxiety. My own sperm quality is a catastrophe on the sheet. But I am a father of four. And yes, they are truly mine. I was skeptical and had it tested. Good luck and stay healthy. Get a third COVID-19 (coronavirus disease) shot. That is important.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
