Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I ate a lot of bilimbis which is a very sour fruit. I ate an estimated number of eight bilimbi fruits. After a couple of hours, I had a stomach ache and a very painful gas pain just below my ribcage, where my abdomen sits. I took Hyoscine and butyl bromide once before eating, but it did not reduce the pain. I took a cup of peppermint tea, which somehow relieved the pain by 50 to 60 %, and I passed a lot of gas. I woke up at 4 am dawn and experienced the same pain, but it was infused with hunger pangs which confused me if I was hungry or still in pain like I had last night. Today, before lunch, I took two 10 mg of Hyoscine and butyl bromide, but it did not help. What should I do?

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

After careful analysis of your provided history, I suggest it is gastritis. Do not worry. I would suggest the following-

1. Stop taking the current medicine.

2. Drink at least eight to nine glasses of water daily.

3. Start taking the capsule Pantoprazole 40 mg twice daily for one week. Make sure it is the capsule form and not a tablet.

4. Do not consume dairy products or red meat for a few days. Stick to more fruits and vegetables. Consuming fish is good.

5. Do not skip meals. Consume meals at the proper time and in moderation.

6. Cut down on spicy food and food that is too hot.

7. Do not have coffee, tea, or any hot beverages.

Thank you.
