Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

What is the reason for my long-haul heaviness without a headache? How do I get rid of it? Currently, I am using tablet Paxil.

Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. You have a tension-type headache with anxiety disorder and sinus issues due to lack of fresh air or sun exposure. There is non-pharmacological management for it. I suggest you follow few guidelines to deal with it. It will help you. Exercise 30 to 45 minutes daily, like going for a walk, gym, or swimming. It will boost your confidence. Take care of your posture. As you are overusing your computer, you need to take breaks in between, as it is affecting your eye, back, and head. Meditate daily for 20 minutes. Sit at one place in a comfortable position and try to concentrate on your normal breathing, do not force yourself to stop your thoughts; just let them be. It will help you to relax. Eat healthy home-cooked foods, and avoid junk foods. Drink enough water. Spend quality time with friends and family daily or do video calls if you are living away from your family. Spend time on creative hobbies like reading good books, writing journals, painting, drawing, and learning new skills, language, or musical instruments. Get enough sleep of seven to eight hours daily. Avoid tobacco, alcohol, or any substance abuse. Live your life, do not just spend it. Be bold and confident. Do not be afraid of anyone. Stop overthinking. If you still have symptoms that persist after following the advice for four to six weeks, I suggest you start taking tablet Amitriptyline 10 mg at night.

I hope this helps. Kindly revert in case of further questions.

Thank you.

Investigations to be done

I suggest the following investigations to be done: CBC (complete blood count), thyroid profile, serum vitamin B12, RBS (random blood sugar).

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thank you for the response.

Despite doing meditation and exercises, there is heaviness in my head throughout the day. Does tension headache cause a persistent heaviness in the head? What can I do to ease the heaviness? Also, how do I deal with anxiety if it is due to anxiety? What do CBC and RBS mean?

Kindly advise.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

It is a tension-type headache due to constant stress or work and will reduce when you relax. It will precipitate when you are stressed or overthink. Relaxation and a break in your routine life will ease down your heaviness. I suggest you stop overthinking and try to go on a short vacation. Also, you have an anxiety disorder. Regarding the laboratory investigations, CBC means complete blood count, and RBS means random blood sugar. Low hemoglobin or high sugars can also cause precipitation headaches.

I hope this helps.

Thank you.
