Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My father has had an infection between his toes for the last 20 days. He has diabetes. His fasting blood sugar is 190 mg/dL, and his post-prandial blood sugar is 320 mg/dL. We took a doppler test for his infection, and it came back normal. For the last week, we are using Sertaconazole, but it did not help. His kidney and liver functions are also normal. He is using Zoryl M2 tablets for diabetes. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome to ilciniq.com.

I suggest that he can apply Mupirocin ointment twice daily for 15 days and take tablet Roxid 150 mg (Roxithromycin) twice daily after food for five days. Clean the lesion with Povidone iodine and cotton, kindly keep the area clean and dry and avoid scratching and rubbing the lesion. Take care.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Thanks for the reply. There is no oozing, pain, or fever. I have attached the pictures. Since we applied turmeric powder with coconut oil to the lesion, it looks yellowish. Kindly help.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I saw the pictures (attachments removed to protect the patient’s identity). The lesion needs surgical dressing daily. Kindly avoid contact with water and keep the area dry and clean. I suggest to check his sugar levels again and keep them under control. Apply Mupirocin ointment twice daily for 15 days and take tablet Roxid 150 mg twice daily after food for five days. Regards.
