Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I am 6 weeks pregnant. One of my top front teeth has recently become incredibly sensitive when I eat or drink cold things, breathe in cold air, and brush my teeth. I have taken a painkiller, but it has not helped. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime to try and fix this at home? Unfortunately, I cannot afford to go to see a dentist.

Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I have gone through your question, and I can understand your concern.

You need to avoid painkillers because they can be dangerous for your pregnancy. If there is any swelling or pus drainage, it may be either because of the malocclusion or the sinus issue. You need to use desensitizing toothpaste twice daily. You can use Amoxicillin 500 mg thrice daily for five days if you have any infection. Please consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent. Avoid the use of painkillers.

Thank you.
