Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I had a D and C four months back after a miscarriage, and I got my last period two months back. So, I went back to the doctor to make sure there is no continuing pregnancy. I had a vaginal ultrasound, which she said is all clear, and I am perfectly fine. She said I just have a little infection, for which she prescribed me Azomox.
Please help.
Thank you.
Hi,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
A vaginal ultrasound shows if there is any pregnancy or remains of the miscarriage in the uterine cavity. This can also detect any significant clots in the uterine cavity. So, you can trust the scan reports.
Usually, in pregnancy, no matter how many weeks of pregnancy, the hormones of pregnancy will be high, and they will not disappear immediately. It will gradually come back to pre-pregnancy levels over a few months (two to four months). Due to the same hormones, you do not have periods during pregnancy. So, do not bother about periods for a few months.
But do remember that you can still get pregnant without periods. Do not worry about infection. After D and C (dilation and curettage), everyone will have some infection. This does not need antibiotics. Just rest for some time, and you will be fine.
Hope I have clarified your query. Do write back.
Thank you.
