Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I had oral sex with an unknown woman for four to five seconds but then I got scared and went away. I do not know her HIV status. I got a negative test result on the seventh day and 158th day (five months and 10 days). I did not have any other exposure after that and in these five months. Also, I do not have any symptoms like fever, sore throat, lymphadenopathy, oral thrush, body pains, cough, etc.

Can I consider the negative Tridot test on the 158th day as conclusive and be out of tension? I got folliculitis recently near my lip, which resolved in two to three days. I am a little nervous. Please help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

We will pay close attention to your worries and address all your queries with utmost care.

You just had oral sex for four seconds and no intercourse at all. So, you do not have any risk of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) transmission as per your history. However, it is good that you had done an investigation for HIV. Any HIV test done after three months of exposure rules out HIV conclusively. Your report is done after 158 days. So do not worry. Your report is conclusive to rule out HIV and consider yourself free from HIV and forget that incident.

I hope your query got resolved.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your prompt reply.

So, I need not worry about the risk. A few people talk about seroconversion on the internet, so I thought of getting it checked after six months. But it is five months and 20 days as of today, and I do not have even a single symptom. Can I be free without any tension, as you said? Or do I need to worry about seroconversion?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Do not worry about HIV as you did not have enough exposure for the transmission of HIV. You do not have a risk of HIV, and after six months, HIV is rarely detected instead of being negative after three months. But considering your history, do not worry about HIV, and no need to repeat HIV testing.

Testing after three months of exposure rules out HIV conclusively.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

Sorry to ask repeatedly, is Tridot test after five months conclusive? There is no need to worry right?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

From your attached reports (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity), you seem to be negative for HIV. So, you can consider yourself free from HIV if there was no further unprotected intercourse exposure in the last six months. I hope I have resolved your queries. Let me know if you have further questions in mind. Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have not engaged in any other contact in the past six months. So, can I be sure and not worry about HIV now?

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

You can consider yourself free from HIV as you had no further exposure.

I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Thank you.
