Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My 6-year boy is not growing for three years. He is underweight and has loose stool while drinking milk. I am very upset, I gave him supplements prescribed by a doctor, but there is no result. Please help.

Thanks.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern.

It is essential to evaluate this case physically to check for constipation, as it is common in this age group. Another thing that may need to be evaluated is TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone). If the child has high TSH, it indicates the need to start treatment for hypothyroidism. If the child has constipation, Please give syrup Duphalac (Lactulose) 10 ml twice daily for ten days and plenty of water. Reduce intake of bread and bread products, milk, chocolates, and chips and increase water intake for long-term benefits regarding constipation. After the child is alright, give syrup Zincovit 5 ml in the morning for three months and syrup Calcimax-P (Calcium, Cholecalciferol) 8 ml in the morning and afternoon Feronia XT (Ferrous ascorbate) 6 ml at night for three months. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and take medications with their consent.

I hope this information will help.

Thanks.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
