Hello doctor,
I had an itchy, vaginal discharge a while ago. When I scratched or rubbed it, it started to swell. I got my period later which was followed by dryness, pain, and pinkish skin. After my period got over, it is dry and I could feel my skin cracking, the skin around the vagina is painful to touch. The skin of the lower part of the vagina is covered with a dry white substance extending towards both sides. It is painful to touch but after washing the area the dry whitish part is gone.
Kindly help.
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. This is due to vaginal infection with bacteria most probably superadded with fungal infection. You have to maintain hygiene and use cotton clothes, avoid usage of public toilets, and use an antibacterial, and antifungal ointment. You have to avoid the usage of any scented liquid for wash and also use oral medicine for infection.
Hope this helps.
Thank you.
Hello doctor,
Thank you for the reply. My report says vulvovaginitis; is a chronic fungal infection that spread for long weeks. Is this curable? I am tensed as the vaginal skin is dry and wrinkled. Could you ease up the process?
Thank you.
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
I can understand your concern. Yes, it is vulvovaginitis. I know you have diagnosed it right. It is curable. Check for blood sugar levels. To get rid of fungal infection you have to take treatment for two weeks at least.
Thank you.
