Patient's Query
Hello doctor,
I am a 23-year-old female. I am having a genital itch for over a week already. I have a partner who is also experiencing itch, redness, and scaling. Before the itch, I notice white thick discharge, and then the itchiness came with brownish smelly discharge. I previously had UTI before around 6 months ago and was prescribed Clindamycin. I am skeptical about having a physical check up right now because of the COVID virus that is why I am asking online for help. Please help.
Hello,
Welcome to icliniq.com.
Most probably you are having fungal vaginitis. You should wear cotton panties and clean your genital area with antiseptic liquid in a glass of water after every urination. Both of you required treatment.
Patient's Query
Thank you doctor,
Are there other alternatives you could suggest? Hopefully ones that are readily available at home. Also, do you suggest cleaning with feminine wash once a day when taking a shower?
Hello,
Welcome back to icliniq.com.
You can use any antiseptic solution which should be diluted in water before applying this procedure is more effective feminine wash which only balances the pH of your genital area. You should take Surfaz SN (Clotrimazole, Beclomethasone Dipropionate and Neomycin sulfate) ointment over genital area twice the day is a better option. Take tablet Forcan 150 (Fluconazole) to both the partners once and revert back after seven days with the response.
