Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

A couple of weeks back, my fiance and I had sex for one minute, and we were using a condom. The next time we were not using it, so a few days after, I started to itch. The condoms were kind of old, I did not know what caused the itch, so I started to use a feminine wash. I only used it three times, but it still kept itching, and I was scratching it as well. I took a morning pill because I was scared that I would get pregnant, so fast forward to that, my period came early. I am still having the itches, and it got worst. It kept irritating the area to the point where it would burn when I urinated. So I used some hydro cream that is said to be good for itching and rash, and that could be used in that area, so I used it twice in one day and started to see some vaginal discharge with a bit of odor and a bit runny. I am really stressed about this issue and really need some help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

By your history, I will diagnose it as bacterial vaginosis.

1. Decrease your smoking and alcohol intake (if any).

2. Avoid over-washing the vagina; do not use harsh detergents to wash your undies.

3. Use tablet Metronidazole 500 mg after food for five days, ointment Clindamycin 2 % vaginal cream, oral Tinidazole tablet 2 grams one tablet only for today.

4. Do not use V wash (Lactic acid).

Review after five days for further precautions and treatment.

Same symptoms don't mean you have the same problem. Consult a doctor now!
