Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

My son occasionally vomits due to gas in the morning when he gets up and drinks a cup of milk. Sometimes he immediately throws up after a big burp. He sometimes drinks very light tea during the evening time. What could be the issue? Is it GERD? His deworming is due this month.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com

I understand your concern.

Occasional Vomiting rules out GERD (Gastroeosphageal reflux disease) because vomiting will be persistent, irrespective of the food item. Some children often have milk allergies (especially colds), which can be present as vomiting. Worms infestation also will cause vomiting. Often indigestion can lead to vomiting. I suggest we need to observe the -

  1. Vomiting patterns.
  2. Is it specifically food related?
  3. Is it indigestion?
  4. Is it a worm infestation?

Once we address these issues, we will be in a better position to diagnose the cause, and if symptoms persist, they might require further evaluation. Feel free to connect me if any other concerns.

Happy to serve you.
