Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

My 24-year-old wife is having a fever of 103.4 F. She is puking every time when she is about to eat something. Her joints are aching. She is feeling dizziness and she has vomited also. It has been about 30 hours. She has taken Paracetamol but nothing happened. She is not getting better. Please help.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I went through your post.

The predominant complaints are fever and vomiting. However, you have not mentioned whether she has any cause for fever like a sore throat, cough, dysuria, abdominal pain or urine problems. Anyway, the first thing is to stop vomiting so that she can take some medicines and food.

I suggest you give her tablet Ondem (Ondansetron) 8 mg mouth dissolving three times a day for a few days. Once vomiting is controlled, you can start antibiotics preferably Zifi O (Ofloxacin and Cefixime) 200 mg twice daily and Dolo 650 (Paracetamol) if there is fever or a headache. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and with their consent take the above medicines. Ask her to take enough fluids.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

Then, give her the antibiotic and a cough syrup, Mucolite (Ambroxol) two tablespoonful in the morning. Consult your specialist doctor, discuss with him or her and with their consent take the medicines and syrup. This will take at least three days to settle.
