Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

There is a whitish deposition on my frenulum that has not gone away after a month of washing. I do not have any pain or discomfort but I want it gone. I have tried washing it with warm water and a little soap but I do not see any change. What could be the cause for this? Please help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I can understand your concern. Share a picture of the affected area. If there was unprotected sex, one needs to think of sexually transmitted infection. Kindly get the following tests done:

  1. TPHA (treponema pallidum hemagglutination).
  2. HPV DNA PCR (human papillomavirus polymerase chain reaction) test.
  3. HSV (Herpes simplex virus) one or two IgG.
  4. HSV (Herpes simplex virus) one or two IgM, serums.
  5. Chlamydia trachomatis IgG.
  6. HIV one and two antibodies screening test.
  7. HbsAg.
  8. Urine complete.

If not, it can be a simple bacterial infection. Consult your specialist doctor, talk to them, and take medications after their consent.

  1. Apply ointment T-Bact (Mupirocin) local application and Doxy (Doxycycline) 100 mg twice a day for five days.
  2. If there is itching you need to think of a fungal infection. Apply ointment Candid-B (Clotrimazole and Beclometasone) for local application.
  3. Take a tablet of Cetzin (Cetirizine) once a night for itching.

Make sure you wash your genitalia twice a day in the morning and night with normal water and no cold or hot water. Do not use heavy pH soap.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

What is Doxy? Where can I get it? Also, could you give me some information on how to get rid of the other white spots around the head? I have tried soap and water, and it rarely works. Not sure what else to try. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I checked the picture (attachments removed to protect the patient's identity). It looks like a bacterial infection. Is there any itching, pain, or irritation? Any history of unprotected sex? Doxy is an antibiotic, available in the medical store. It helps in most bacterial infections. Soap and water are not skin penetrative and would not help you with a complete cure.

Thank you.
