Can high blood pressure cause bloody mucus in throat?
Hello doctor,
I had mucus from the throat, and it had minor blood in it. I went to the ER, and the blood pressure was 190/110. The doctors told the bleeding had to do with the blood pressure as the bleeding stopped as soon as blood pressure reducing pills were given orally. I had blood tests done today, and everything came out normal. Can high blood pressure be the reason for this bloody mucus from the throat? I am feeling very anxious about this. PTT tests were done, and they were normal as well. ECG and echo were done, and both were normal. I have attached the images of the reports.

Why am I having high uric acid?

I am a 38-year-old cholesterol patient. I have suffered this problem for the last five years. Now, I checked up my uric acid report. My uric acid report is between 1 to 7 range and sometimes 8.99. I have muscle pain in the hand and legs. I feel sometimes my cholesterol medicine can increase the uric acid. I am currently on Rozat 10 mg, Evion, Vitamin E, Prolomet 25 mg. Please help.

CALR Exon 9 mutation is detected. Do I have to worry?

I am a 46-year-old male. A month ago, I had a heart stroke and underwent angio for blood clotting thrombus. My CBC report at that time shows a platelet count at 24 lakhs. I received CALR Exon 9 mutation analysis report today. It reads "CALR Exon 9 mutation is detected by PCR amplification of Exon 9 of CALR, followed by sequencing of coding and junctional region of the Exon. The sequence is compared with the reference sequence NM-004343 for the analysis of mutations." Hematologist prescribed me Anagrelide 0.5 mg. Do I have to worry? Can it be cured by medication?
