Patient's Query

Hello doctor,

I have been suffering from pimples and brown spots on my face for the last two years. I consulted a skin specialist doctor, and there was no improvement. Please suggest the best way to cure these spots.

Kindly help.

Thank you.

Hello,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I read your query and understand your concern.

From your descriptions, it seems that you have acne-pigmented scars. Acne is a chronic problem with a variable course of medication. It requires regular follow-up and prolonged treatment. It usually occurs up to 25 to 28 years of age and may be more than this. Once the acne lesions heal, they leave acne scars. Still, these acne scars heal with post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) for a short duration in light skin individuals. Still, in darker individuals, these PIH persist for longer and maybe for two to three weeks. But this duration can be curtailed by using depigmenting cream, sunscreen, and sun protection.

You can use Hydroquinone skin lightening cream or Adapalene gel 0.1 % during the night daily. Use sunscreen with SPF (sun protection factor) 50 during morning hours all over the face after a bath and repeat once after four hours. Consult your specialist doctor, talk with them, and use medications with their consent.

Thank you.
