Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

I have severe acne on my cheeks and jawline, which recurs despite trying various remedies. Also, I have alopecia areata, a patch at the back of my head. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. I suggest you following medications, consult a dermatologist and discuss with him or her before starting these medications:

1. Apply Nadibact cream (Nadifloxacin) on the acne area twice daily for ten days.

2. Wash your face with D Acne face wash (aloe vera, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, sodium laureth sulfate, and glycerin) twice daily for ten days.

Also, attach the clinical picture to assist you further. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.

Patient's Query

Hi doctor,

Thank you for your reply.

I have attached the images. Kindly help.

Hi,

Welcome back to icliniq.com.

I understand your concern. Alopecia areata is a bald spot. I suggest an intralesional steroid injection, which is given straight to the bald area. It is the most effective treatment for alopecia areata. I also suggest the following medications:

1. Apply Mometasone cream (Mometasone furoate) or Tenovate cream (Clobetasol and Miconazole) to the bald area at night for two months.

2. Apply Tacrolimus 0.1 percent ointment (Tacrolimus) to the bald area in the morning for two months. However, intralesional injection is very effective.

I suggest the following medications and instructions for acne:

1. Apply Nadifloxacin cream or Clindamycin clear gel twice daily for 15 days.

2. Wash face with D Acne face wash (Glycolic Acid, and Salicylic Acid) twice daily for 15 days.

3. Use photostable sunscreen for 30 minutes before going outdoors.

4. Avoid popping or pricking pimples as they may cause secondary bacterial infection and deep permanent scars. I hope this helps you.

Thank you.
